Attacks on Christians in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt

Not since the days of the Crusader Wars have Christians faced such targeted aggression from Muslim extremism. The Muslims who fought in the Crusades were sword wielding warriors, as were the Christian Templar knights. However, it could be argued that anyone who fights and dies for a cause is an extremist in the base sense of the word, whether they’re from the 12th or the 21st Century, with sword or with bomb.
In the 'Has the Time Come' post, MW speaks of bible prophesy, in particular the Destruction of the Temple prophesy, and the term Jesus uses: 'the beginning of sorrows.' (Matt.Ch.24:8). Given the current state of aggression against Christians, the verse that follows comes into its own particular relevance:
